APARTMENT FOR RENT

Uptown Maple Commons, located on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the Chisago County Senior Center, is a 62+ independent Ecumen senior living facility. Currently, there is a one 1-bedroom apartment available for rent, $777.00 a month. Must be section 42 qualified and must sign a 1 year lease. OUTSTANDING SENIOR OF THE YEAR

Do you have a senior volunteer, that goes above and beyond? Let them know how much you appreciate all that they do, nominate him or her for Chisago County's Outstanding Senior of the Year Award! What better way to show your appreciation to them?!

Eligibility Criteria:

* Must be a resident of Minnesota

*The nominee's volunteer service must be accomplished after reaching age 65

* Nominee must be age 70 by June 1, 2012

* Nominee must currently do a volunteer activity that is unpaid and demonstrates commitment to their local community.

* A previous county winner not chosen as the state winner is eligible; however a 2012 nomination form must be completed.

* You may only nominate one individual per nomination form. Couple nominations will be disqualified.

Nomination Procedures, Instructions, and applications are available at the Senior Center, or by going online by clicking here  www.mnstatefair.org  The application can be found by clicking on the recognition programs at the bottom of the home page. Applications need to be mailed or turned into the Senior Center office by June 29, 2012.

HELPING HANDS NEEDED

Catholic Charities North Branch Senior Dining Site, located in Chisago County Senior Center is looking for volunteers to help serve and clean up lunch. If you are interested in volunteering your time and want more information, please contact Rita at 651-674-7088 between the hours of 10:30-1:00 PM, Monday-Friday.

Chisago County Senior Center is in need of a secretary to sit in on our board meetings, once a month. If you are interested in volunteering your time or for more information, please contact Dawn at 651-674-8658 between the hours of 8:00-2:30 PM, Monday-Thursday.
