Is there some way to get to the center if I don't drive?  Chisago County Heartland Express provides rides to the center. A donation of $.75 is suggested for this service, if you are coming for noon dinner. 763-689-8131


What volunteer opportunities are available?  We are always searching for new classes, programs, and activities to start. If you would be interested in teaching or hosting something, please let us know. If you have any questions, please contact us at 651-674-8658. The dining site also needs volunteers to help serve and clean up lunch. For more information on the dining site please call 651-674-7088.


What items are collected here?  We collect Nelson's Receipts, raffle donations, old reading glasses, Campbell's soup labels, pop tops, reading books, old greeting cards, craft items, cell phones. We also have a "free" table at the center, if you have some items you no longer use but are sure someone else might, bring them in! One man's trash is another man's treasure!


How does the Board receive funding?  We receive some funding from Chisago County. Private donations, grants and fund raising are also a vast part of our income to keep the center up and running.
 


Can I get a meal to go?  Frozen meals are available to purchase to go.  We cannot provide hot meals to go.


How old do I have to be to use the center services?  55+, but we do like persons of all ages to help volunteer. If you are under age 55 and volunteering we are happy to have you here.


What services are provided by the center?  Foot Clinic, Community Nurse, Exercise classes, Hearing Clinic, Legal Services, Tax Preparation (when in season), 55 Defensive Driving Class, Support Groups, Information & Referrals.


Who/What is the Chisago County Senior Center?  The mission of The Chisago County Senior Center is to promote a community approach for the development, coordination, and delivery of services to the elderly.
